Enhancing Youth Well-being and Active Citizenship through a Nature-centered Approach – Kastoria, 23.05-28.05
SIR’s team visited beautiful Kastoria once again this spring! Our NGO was greatly represented by, Agnieszka, Karolina, Ola, Filip and Kacper. 👋🏻 Now, they are happy to share with you some of their insights! 🔍
💡What was particular about this project was the agency participants were given to facilitate activities and co-create the programme. We felt like we have the ability to decide on important matters of the project which enhanced our sense of initiative and creativity. Thanks to this aspect, the workshops were personalized and more intimate which supported the integration between participants and allowed us to discovered the topic through the lenses of diverse young people. This is a great way to support active citizenship among youth and the understanding beyond differences.
⛰️Together we talked about things such as the social aspect of well-being, the concept of “red flags”, or our future’s and past’s influence on our lives. We developed the consciousness of our strengths and weaknesses and discussed how we can support each other’s growth. Moreover, we discovered the local nature and hiked in the rural area of beautiful Greek villages and hills, which ignited in us the true appreciation for the environment surrounding us. 🍀
💃🏾Also, we need to say we had so much fun during the intercultural nights and the teambuilding excercises! We danced, played, and sang. Even though the YE was short, we bonded tightly and created lasting friendships and we are forever grateful for this opportunity. 🤝
Below you can check out some of the pictures we took and some of the materials we created in order to support the awareness of well-being among youth and promote the same kind of projects! ☀️
